Criteria for inclusion

What this register records, and what it declines.

Fashion Resorts records one thing: whether a house is sustained a class above the local luxury norm — in positioning, materiality, service intensity and authorship. The question is answered for the hospitality product, not for the corporation that owns it. A luxury brand does not enter because a particular hotel is fine, and a lifestyle brand does not enter because a particular hotel is expensive.

Entry is decided by house ruling rather than property by property. A house that has been ruled into the collection brings its properties with it; a house that has not is absent even where a single address would pass on its own. The ruling is reviewed once an Edition and never between, so a record does not move because a season went well.

Evidence is kept rather than asserted. Every Core record carries a recorded line on where its price sits against the luxury norm of its own destination. A weak signal tiers a record down; it does not remove a house. A house whose signals fail across an Edition loses its ruling at the next Edition.

The register does not rank, does not award stars, and treats rate as evidence rather than as a criterion. A property is never included because it paid to be, and the collection holds no commercial relationship that could make that possible.
